The macOS and Windows builds aren't signed yet

Your system will warn you the first time you open it. That's expected, and here is how to open it anyway.

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded privstory-macos-aarch64.dmg and drag privstory into your Applications folder.
  2. Double-click privstory. macOS says it cannot verify the developer, click Done, do not move it to the Trash.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the Security section, and click Open Anyway next to the message about privstory.
  4. Confirm with your login password, then click Open. Every later launch works normally.

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded privstory-windows-x86_64-setup.exe.
  2. SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. If Run anyway doesn't appear, right-click the .exe, choose Properties, tick Unblock in the Security section, click OK, and run it again.
  4. Follow the installer. Later launches don't show the warning.

Linux

The .deb installs normally, no warning to work around.
